This work continues my long-term interest in diagrams and their relationship to painting. Isometric diagrams from fields such as geometry, architecture and industrial design attempt to describe stable, predictable renderings of space. However due to their simplified form, often presented as black and white line drawings, these diagrams can oscillate between projecting forward and receding into the picture plan.

The series of paintings/drawings An inventory of Spatial Possibilities plays with this unstable and confusing rendering of space. I am also interested in subverting the conventions of perspective in painting and technical drawing by presenting a range of perspectival vanishing points within the one picture plane.
